I am not sure that I like them. But I cannot stop reading them. That is the genius of this woman’s writing. They’re upsetting, horrific; think John Christopher’s adult apocalypse novel The Death of Grass. I definitely don’t want to read them at bedtime.  They’re more than sci-fi, just as all her books resist such categorisation. When I finish them I’ll try to review them – there’s a lot of interesting stuff going along with the religion theme.
